Mike Steidler shares his experience working with Mark Thudium to buy a home in Manheim Township.

I met Mark Thudium through our church community and by reading many of Mark's positive client testimonials in LNP's Real Estate section. I was impressed by how he engaged with the church community outside of regular programs. His willingness to give time, dollars, and mentorship displayed his genuine and kind personality. It was clear he was willing to give of himself without anticipating a return, which resonated with me.

I called Mark in 2021 to discuss helping me purchase a new home. At that time, I knew the community where I wanted to live, but I couldn't actively look or execute a purchase agreement just yet. Mark took the time to educate me as a buyer even though I had an extended search timeframe and wouldn't be purchasing for a year or more.

Mark balanced my need for his expertise within my timeframe. He stayed in touch just enough to let me know he was ready when I was, but he let me control the timeline. I appreciated that he was hanging in the wings, and I felt zero pressure from him to change my pace.

In June 2023, I was ready to make a purchase. I had not bought a home in more than 40 years. Mark helped me understand the market, the real estate process today, and how it differs from my previous experience.

We looked at half a dozen homes and generated two agreements, but unfortunately, we did not secure those properties. Another home became available, and we discussed making an offer. Emily, Mark's assistant, offered a critical perspective. She thoughtfully told me what I needed to hear, which helped me think deeply about what I wanted from the process. Her honest and insightful opinion helped us write a strong offer and secure the property I wanted.

Mark is honest, transparent, patient, and always responsive and available. He was persistent and hung in there until I was ready, and I appreciated it. The guidance that both Emily & Mark provided was crucial for me to hear, understand, and then act on. I was grateful they walked with me through the experience.
