My relationship with Mark Thudium began long before I ever needed a Realtor. Mark and his wife, Michelle, were my grandson's Sunday school teachers at Westminster Presbyterian Church, and Mark later served as his youth leader. Over those years, I watched Mark interact with young people and was always impressed by his steady, caring presence.
Years later, when my daughter was looking for a home, I saw another side of Mark. I went along on house hunts and watched how carefully he considered her circumstances. He wasn't trying to fit her into just any house. He wanted to help her find the right home and position her for success.
When I began considering a move from my Mount Joy townhome to a retirement community, there was no question who I would call. At that point, I had no timeframe and no definite plan. Still, Mark came to my home, sat with me, answered every question and gave me the guidance I needed. I felt like a priority before I had even decided to sell.
About a month later, Woodcrest Villa called to say a home would soon be available. Suddenly, things were moving! Mark helped me think through the timing. I wanted to move first and settle on my townhome later so I wouldn't feel rushed. He listened and developed a plan around what was important to me.
When my home was listed over a holiday weekend, I started getting nervous. Mark reassured me, and Emily Emerich, his assistant, reached out to explain that the activity we were seeing was exactly what they expected. Her reassurance gave me tremendous confidence. Emily was extremely helpful throughout the process, from reviewing paperwork to keeping me informed. She and Mark work so well together.
Mark carefully walked me through each offer, explaining the contingencies and possible scenarios. His focus was on helping me select the offer that worked best for me. Settlement went smoothly, and the new owners were excited about their home.
Mark knows real estate, the market and its ups and downs. But what stands out most is his character. He is trustworthy, honest as the day is long, responsive and genuinely caring.
I never felt like I was just a business transaction. With Mark and Emily, I felt cared for, and I always knew that what was best for me came first.
